What grade levels does Algebra Success Academy serve?
I work with students in middle school (grades 7-8), high school Algebra 1, and Geometery, or Integrated Math 1, providing personalized instruction to meet each student’s needs and learning style(s).
What if my child is already in Algebra 1?
Even students currently enrolled in Algebra 1 benefit from our program, especially if they’re struggling with the foundational skills needed to succeed. I personalize instruction with guided notes that teach current grade math standards while filling in any foundational gaps.
Is this a full-year curriculum?
No. This is not a full curriculum. The guided notes are designed to supplement, not replace your child’s curriculum. The notes are in a “we do” followed by “your turn” practice section. Each lesson is organized into a detailed “we do” section with easy to understand explanations with a review of prerequiste skills needed for the section. Students then apply what they’ve learned in a few “Your Turn” practice problems to build confidence and independence.
What can my child expect during the tutoring-math coaching sessions?
Every session is personalized to meet your child’s individual learning needs. Your child will learn in a positive and engaging learning environment where he/she feels comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. Moreover, I will encourage your child to explain his/her thinking to assess current level of understanding and any misconceptions while developing deeper mathematical understanding of the “why”the math works, just procedural steps to solve problems. Your child will work through the guided notes with me and have all notes availble to use outside our sessions.
With your permission, I will video record each sesssion and share with your and your child to reference at anytime.
Is there a refund policy?
If you or your student are not completely satisfied at anytime, I will provide a full refund of any remaining pre-paid sessions. I want each student and family to feel comfortable and confident with my services. Your child’s comfort and math success are my highest priorities, even if that means seeking services from another provider.
